ice cream + hot summer days = happy childhood memories

The darling ritual of “the afternoon ice cream cone” during the hot days of summer, is alive and well– tucked away, behind Main Street in St. Helena.  The Big Dipper is charming, without knowing it’s charming, serving ice cream in waffle cones, milkshakes, sundaes,  sno-balls + root beer floats all day long, on vintage 1950s white metal chairs with bright red upholstery.

The Big Dipper is a neighborhood capsule of nostalgia delighting both kids + kids at heart with frozen treats and racks upon racks of candies.  The Big Dipper is across the street from the Catholic church and has oodles of parking + is a special treat/ fix.
